Colusa is a destination for diverse outdoor recreational attractions and a paradise for sportsmen. Portions of five National protected areas are located within the county: Butte Sink Wildlife refuge; Colusa National Wildlife Refuge; Delevan National Wildlife Refuge; Mendocino National Forest and; Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. Recreational opportunities such as hiking, bird watching, camping and water sports abound. The Sacramento River, and local lakes, offer world class fishing.Colusa is a business-friendly community, with significant industrial growth opportunities. This is enhanced by the major highways intersecting the county (I-5, highway 99, state route 16, state route 45 and state route 20). Sacramento is located 60 miles south, the Bay Area 100 miles southwest and major northwestern urban areas easily accessible via I-5.
